AN OVERVIEW - PORTRAITS

As my research has been very broad so far I think now is a good time to

reflect on and streamline my ideas.

My strongest thoughts so far have been:

• Using Catholicism and it's religious imagery to create easily identifiable and relatable work - most likely to be depictions of Jesus.

• Commenting on the absurdities of Western religion by contrasting it against spirituality via use of pattern and void - psychedelia and sacred geometry.

• Using male on male gaze to juxtapose Catholic ideals.

• Using location, props and or fashion to form a sense of grandeur and excessiveness.

So in short:

Identifiable via Catholicism

Spirituality via pattern & void

Sexuality via male on male gaze

Grandeur via location, props & fashion
