EDITING PRACTICE - DOCUMENTARY

To practice editing properly before I put my Haiku together, I made this short film to mess around with and understand the process better. After exporting and uploading the video however, I realised I forgot to remove the mp4 file from one of the clips.

After making this I now feel confident I can edit both my Haiku and I Have A Dream.

In this video I tried to stay away from using the generic clips that everyone filmed as that's not the style I will ever work in. Instead I culminated an array of calming imagery and tried to use repetition in order to portray some kind of meditative state. The abstract red lights were from Mitch Martinez's stock website - the Abba soundtrack I obviously don't have the rights to but as this was just a personal experiment to practice editing I continued with it anyway. Visually I was trying to create a glitchy trip  which became most prevalent in the last clip - this was lightly influenced by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's videos, in particular Crumbling Castle. Other videos that I had in mind were the work of Dexter Stokes-Mellor.
