TIME TASK - VIDEO
Time and death are the two most curious and negative human concepts, so it seems logical to explore both together - the idea of death and an end to time is where the downfall of Western religions prevail. They are ideas used to incite fears that we don't instinctively carry in order to force us into blindly following a supposed light. To contrast the focus on Western ideals in Portraits, I shall instead focus on the Buddhist/Hindu takes on time and death where past, present and future are instead an ever present infinite now and death is only another change in state no more dramatic than the last.
So if time and death cease to exist, how can I remit this into a video manifestation which adheres to a time format?
How can I remove time from a time based medium?
I had originally imagined the idea of the infinite now as something with movement - very short moments that become another, that become another and the previous forgotten, but in this article from the Daily Mail they've suggested that time is static but with multiple layers which could be easier to communicate in video.
Infinite now: Second long clips that bear no relation to each other so that no pattern emerges that viewers can remember 'past' from. Force viewers into presence, into the now, into temporary ego death.
Infinite co-existing: Multi screen or collage type format where different moments exist as one perhaps some foreshadowing others.

The project saw Hsieh punch a time clock every hour on the hour for exactly one year.
Structure of time, doesn't exist could create fake times. The I Listen To Blue Monday Every Monday series follows a similar format.
