WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING

Title: Noah’s Ark 

Genre: Experimental Film/Performance

Synopsis: Multiscreen triptych of videos depicting a Creation, Apocalypse and Flood in relation to my experience with rituals in substance abuse after trauma and how this compares and contrasts to rituals surrounding death - both processes I believe to be in search of a higher, unattainable, power. 

Screen 1: 

White Studio, clinical and hospital like - site of trauma, literal point of creation for art, running theme for artist films (Emin, Basquiat Stokes-Mellor etc.), floor filled with white powder, becoming the vulture 

Screen 2: 

Bar Toilet, taboo, opening closed doors, using mirrors uncomfortably, where I experience PTSD the most - the reason I’m an addict, common place for social drug use, noisiest visually and audibly, in costume 

Screen 3: 

Black Studio, the end, dramatic lighting, featuring Bhumi Devi as ‘yellow sunshine’, destroying/removing costume with melting wax, saturated yellow light reveals props etc
